The rooms are very clean, and you can walk to everything you need. Breakfast can be ordered to the room, and there’s also some alcohol for sale at the front desk. Parking is $20 a day here, but there’s a lot right across the way for $15 per day, which may be worth considering. I’ll definitely be back.

I’ve stayed at Inn By The Sea La Jolla five times in one year and have never been disappointed. It feels like coming home. Cheryl and Miquel are always wonderful and ready to answer questions, and the whole staff is amazing. The place is clean and efficient, with everything, especially the Cove, within walking distance. Love it.

The noise from construction was awful: loud crashing and screeching started early in the morning and carried on through the day. The listing says streaming services like Netflix are available, but the TV literally only lets you choose live TV. Customer service was rude and dismissive too. I was in town for a doctor’s appointment that required rest and a quiet place to recover. Staying here was a nightmare, and it felt humiliating. I wish I’d paid more for one of the nearby hotels.

The property isn’t the newest or most modern, but it’s clean and well maintained, and my stay was relaxing. The location is the main draw. I liked having coffee and tea in the guest lounge around the clock. There’s parking at the front and back, plus a limited number of underground spaces. Gym access a block away is included with the stay.

We had a good stay overall. The room, bed, and linens were comfortable and clean, and the room had been updated. The bathroom could use an update too. We had a private balcony, though it faced the entrance rather than the sea. There’s a heated outdoor pool, but we didn’t get a chance to use it. Service was friendly, and the location is convenient, with good restaurants and places of interest nearby. Parking costs extra. Breakfast isn’t complimentary, but you can pay to have it delivered in the morning from a reputable nearby breakfast place. Inn by the Sea La Jolla isn’t part of a major chain, so there are no Marriott or Hilton benefits.
