Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego

We had a bay view from our simple but really nice room, and room service brought tasty food fairly quickly. The hotel was clean, and the staff were friendly. It's a premium experience and costs accordingly, but I thought it was worth it. The location is perfect: the Gaslamp District and Seaport Village are an easy walk away. The $45 parking fee feels ridiculous on top of the hotel price, but I guess that's San Diego.

The renovated rooms have a minimalist, chic look, which is a really nice touch. The hotel's location is excellent, and the service, starting at the front desk, was fantastic. The food at their club was the one change for the worse. It used to be nice and high quality, but now it's a bit standard. PGC

The bay views are hard to beat, and the location puts a lot close by. Seaport Village and The Headquarters are right outside, with shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. The Gaslamp Quarter and Petco Park are an easy 15-minute walk, and the light rail across the street makes Little Italy, Mission Valley, and even Chula Vista easy to reach. Coronado is a quick Lyft ride away. There's plenty of garage parking by the entrance for a fee, and the airport is about 15 minutes away. This hotel suits all sorts of trips. Business travelers get meeting space and a spot next to the Convention Center. Families have comfortable-sized rooms, casual dining and Seaport Village nearby, plus a pool and recreation deck with shuffleboard and basketball. For a couple, the bay views from the rooms and Top of the Hyatt are lovely, with date-night restaurants close by. Its proximity to the Gaslamp and Petco Park also makes it handy for a birthday weekend or a bachelor or bachelorette trip. If an earlier visit didn't live up to the hype, it might be worth another try. The hotel, including the rooms, has been refreshed, and app check-in and checkout mean no more long lines. I was told streaming on the TVs is coming soon. The friendly staff, updated feel, and incredible location made me happy to recommend it. Whatever brings you here, I think you'll enjoy the stay.

They upgraded me to a very large suite with a lovely view. I liked it, though the feel was corporate and not very warm or inviting. The bed was out in the open, and a screen or something to close off the sleeping area would've worked better. The water temperature varied, but it was okay.
