Ocean Beach Hotel

Being right on the beach was a big plus, and free parking and friendly staff helped too. The restaurants had great food. But the room was horrible: tiny, with a bathroom about the size of a closet. You can barely sit on the toilet without touching the underside of the sink, and the very soft bed had no support and hurt my back. Planes also fly over the hotel every 10 minutes. We paid for expensive parking in Miami, but that experience was excellent and the hotel room was amazing. Free parking won't decide it for me next time.

I paid $400 for a room the size of a bathroom, and room 307 had bed bugs. I was covered in bites. When I went to the office on Sunday, they said the manager was away until Tuesday. No one seemed to care, though the health department did. I have photos of the bites. Renting out a room when you know it's a health hazard is unacceptable, no matter how ideal the location is. I'm a real reviewer, not a tourist who'll disappear back home and shrug it off. The loud guests slammed doors and shouted to each other from one end of the place to the other all night, like it was a block party. It ruined my proposal. Absolutely horrible.

The staff were efficient and very friendly, and they cleaned the room daily, which you rarely see these days. The location was good, though beach-town noise carried on late into the night. The hotel is clearly older, but it isn't as outdated or run-down as most places from the same era.

Ocean Beach Hotel made for a fun, laid-back beach trip. It's in a great spot for walking to the beach, grabbing coffee, or browsing local shops. The staff were friendly, and the relaxed coastal feel was just what we wanted.
