Ocean Beach has a relaxed, casual surfer and hipster feel, and that’s part of what we liked about staying here. It isn’t a luxury resort style place, so it may not suit someone looking for ultra-modern luxury. For us, the beach access and laid-back town atmosphere were just right. Everything was clean, practical, and well stocked, and the ocean views made the trip worthwhile. There were lots of local restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and little places to explore within walking distance. We had what we needed for a comfortable family vacation and would stay again for the easy beach life and classic San Diego coast.

That enormous balcony is the highlight, especially for the sunset views. The apartment was clean and comfortable, and you can walk to the beach, shops, and Newport Avenue restaurants. OB Noodle House is only a few blocks away. A good pick if you want to stay right by the beach and have plenty of food options nearby.

I’ve stayed in this building several times, and unit 7 is my favorite so far. From the balcony you get beach and sunset views, plus a good perch for people watching. Ocean Beach still feels like old-school California to me, with everything close by and plenty of great restaurants and real people. Compared with other San Diego beach towns, it hasn’t gotten too high-end, in my opinion. My wife and I always visit OB Noodle Bar when we’re in town, and I’d try the Sizzling Fish. In summer, there’s a really cool light and dance show in the park on Wednesdays, I think. You can watch it for free from the balcony.

I booked Ocean Park 07 because Ocean Park 04 wasn’t available, after having a wonderful stay in 04 before. This unit had a slightly different layout but the same nice finishes, and the experience was just as good. Check-in was seamless again, and the quiet spot on Saratoga made the whole trip stress-free. I’m a regular now and wouldn’t consider staying elsewhere when I’m in town.
