Pleasant Inn

I was grateful for how accommodating they were. I needed to extend my stay by two or three days at a time, and they kept me in the same room each time. I even came down at 4 AM to arrange an extension and found the front desk person awake and helpful. The daytime front desk staff were exemplary. My sister was at UCSD hospital, so I needed a clean, safe hotel at a reasonable rate. This one fit the bill and went above and beyond. The public areas always smelled freshly cleaned, and there was a nice lobby sitting area I unfortunately never used. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, and several good restaurants were within walking distance. It met my needs, and I was very grateful. The room had a TV with lots of channels, a small refrigerator, and a coffee maker, but no microwave. I’d recommend this hotel without hesitation.

We picked this hotel because it was near our friends’ apartment and her store, which made the location really convenient. The room was very dark, just what my husband and I need as light sleepers, and it was clean with daily service. We did notice quite a bit of noise, with people coming and going late at night, and the walls seem old. Still, we had a good stay.

The staff made this stay feel easy from the start. Check-in was quick, they were welcoming, and they helped me get a quiet room away from the street. I also appreciated the local tips, including places to eat around the Gaslamp Quarter and spots to catch the sunset. The room was clean and modern, with a comfortable king bed, a roomy bathroom, strong hot water, nice towels, and a coffee maker. Wi-Fi held up on video calls, parking was free, the grounds were tidy, and the keycard elevators and bright lighting helped me feel secure. There’s also a fitness center open around the clock and an outdoor pool. I liked the little evening cookies in the lobby, too. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, with waffles, eggs, bacon, yogurt, fruit, and pastries. It gave me a good start for days out at Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo, and La Jolla to see the sea lions. The location worked well, close to the freeway but in a peaceful neighborhood, and the price felt like a good deal for San Diego. Housekeeping left fresh towels each day without getting in the way. Pleasant Inn exceeded what I expected, and I’d be glad to stay again and bring friends.

After two really difficult hotel stays, I was glad I booked Pleasant Inn. Tu at the front desk was professional, sincere, and especially helpful. She went out of her way for me, and I hope the hotel recognizes her service. The room was clean and quiet, and it was just right for a short stay. I’d recommend the place.
