Quality Inn San Diego I-5 Naval Base

The room was spacious, clean, and had a comfortable bed. At checkout, the staff on duty were amazing too. The woman at the front desk gave us an excellent welcome and was so caring. I highly recommend this place 👏

The rooms are kept in good shape and have enough space to get some work done. My problem was the customer service around 4:30 pm on Mondays. The front desk should be informative and open-minded, but that wasn’t how it went here. I understood what information they needed differently, and instead of helping, the receptionist got sarcastic. I asked for the manager, but they insisted they knew their job and that I’d get the same answer. I asked again, and then they said the manager wasn’t available and to come back tomorrow morning for help.

The room was clean and the service was good, so it works if you only need somewhere to sleep. Breakfast was the letdown. As a Choice member, I’m used to a proper hot option like eggs and sausage or bacon, but waffles were the only hot food here. There wasn’t any yogurt or even hard-boiled eggs. If you’re after a sweet breakfast, fine, but I was disappointed by how little of the usual fare they had.

I booked after reading reviews that said the Quality Inn was clean, but that wasn’t what I found. There were cockroaches, including two inside the room. That’s unacceptable for a place to stay.
