Quality Inn & Suites Near The Border

I stayed for a month while working on a nearby project, and the price, quality, and location were hard to beat compared with other hotels around there. It’s about 10 minutes from the beach and 20 from downtown San Diego. The rooms stayed clean, breakfast was decent, and the staff were amazing and fluent in English and Spanish. It’s never going to be a “5 Star” hotel, but if you want somewhere safe, decent, and affordable in the San Diego area, I’d recommend it.

Maria serves breakfast, and she’s very sweet. The staff are great, prices are low, and it’s easy to get on and off the highway. My room was cleaned well every day. The AC was noisy but worked, and the pool looked a little cloudy. Rooms facing the highway get a lot of traffic noise. If you’re on a budget, this place works.

We spent one night in San Diego at the Quality Inn near the Border. It was cheap, and you get what you pay for. The receptionist was friendly, so no complaints about service. The building is old but didn’t look too bad; the room could have been cleaner. The bathtub looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks, and the bathroom is really small. The bed was a little hard, though nothing too bad.

We’ll be back this December. There were plenty of nearby restaurants, and a taco truck in the parking lot had good food at good prices. Breakfast was very good with a Spanish twist, and the laundry room was clean and easy to use.
