We were in town for a wedding, so the hotel was convenient for getting to the venues. The rooms are spacious, though the closet is tiny. My husband could hang his clothes, but there wasn't room for mine, even though there was enough space in the room for a cheap clothing rack. As another review mentioned, they don't do daily cleaning, and nobody told us at check-in. They brought clean towels when we asked, but left the wet ones on the bathroom floor. Breakfast was decent, though the room echoes. I might stay again, but I have no plans to return.

What put me off returning was the staff, especially at the front desk. Carla, who checked us in, seemed bothered that we were there. There was no smile, welcome, or cheer. We asked the desk to have someone check the noisy shower and bring more towels. Carla wrote it down, but when we got back that evening, neither the shower had been fixed nor the extra towels arrived. The hotel looks nice, and I'd expect friendlier service even at a Motel 6. If the staff seemed to care, I'd go back. The hotel is good, the staff are not. We stayed two nights in early October 2021. The room was clean and looked very new, and the hotel was clean and nice by appearances. Breakfast wasn't great, but it was free, which made up for it. There was only one trash can, in the bathroom, and it filled quickly. We tried taking the rubbish to the ice machine area, but couldn't find any bins on the floor. The shower made a loud shrieking noise that carried into the hallway.

For the kind of hotel it aims to be, this Fairfield deserves five stars. It's the lower end of Marriott, so don't expect a luxury stay: it's not especially cozy, and breakfast isn't five-star. But this one is brand new, very clean, has friendly staff, and plenty of parking. I can't believe it has such a low rating. It'll probably age quickly and feel much more low-end, but right now it's a nice, new Fairfield. If you want luxury, go to a higher-end Marriott.

The area was lovely, coastal and chic. No wonder Californians 😎🌞 seem so happy and vibrant. I stayed with my fiance for my sister's wedding and really liked the location. The hotel staff were a different story 😳. They seemed disorganized from check-in through checkout. We spent over 15 minutes trying to check out because they couldn't find our reservation in the system. They'd just opened, so how could it already be so dysfunctional? 🤨 The room was alright. I just wish the staff were more on their toes and had some personality.

We left a day early. The mattress was gross, one pillowcase was really dirty, and there were blood stains on the mattress. Cleanliness and basic upkeep weren't acceptable. There was even a dirty drawing on the light that housekeeping must have seen every day. It could have been a nice room if they'd kept up with cleaning and maintenance. I'd rather pay more for somewhere cleaner and more secure, with staff who seem to care. The pictures speak for themselves. We chose the place because the price seemed right and the photos made it look recently remodeled. We arrived around 10 pm, but room 105 had a toilet that kept running and wouldn't flush, so we had to repack and move to room 127. That room smelled strongly of body odor, and its door was already open, which made me uneasy. Several vagrants were hanging around. Inside, an electrical socket was pulled about two inches out of the wall, and the desk was filthy. We were exhausted from the drive, so we put up with it. Shutters instead of curtains let light from the doorway shine into the room all night. The advertised breakfast was two jugs of Rice Krispies, cereal all over, and toast. When I told "Manager" Ana about some problems and said we didn't need service, she seemed completely indifferent. The next morning I again asked for no service, but was told you couldn't skip housekeeping two days in a row. I said I didn't want anyone in the room while I was away and suggested sending someone while I was there. Ana said nobody would be there until 9, so I'd have to stay in the room if I didn't want someone around my valuables. I'd seen police responding to an issue on the property the night before, which hadn't made me feel safer. I even offered to let Ana inspect the room, but she refused. The manager was rude and unprofessional, saying she didn't have to discuss the policy with me. Getting into the property after going to the beach required what seemed like an illegal U-turn, because the highway off-ramp is right by the hotel. The basic attention to detail just wasn't there.
