TownePlace Suites by Marriott San Diego Airport/Li

The location was great for us, near both the airport and the water, and the staff were great too. We usually stay at Hampton Inn’s when we travel. A few small things bothered us: the bed felt a bit hard and the pillows went flat almost right away. The bathroom had a sliding barn door with no lock, and you could even smell what was happening in there. Love my spouse, but not that much lol.

Cristian at the counter and the young man who checked us in were the best part of the stay. Both were very nice and helpful. We booked two rooms, and the service problems left us considering other hotel options even though we've generally been happy with Hilton brands in the US and abroad. In one room, Rm ***, there was a nasty stain on the bathroom wall. I showed a photo to the woman at the desk, who said she'd tell housekeeping to handle it when they serviced the room. We were out all day, but the stain was still there when we came back. Our other room wasn't serviced at all. I understand the schedule and only expected the trash to be taken out and fresh towels. Neither happened, so we went down and Cristian got us towels. I tried to raise this on Google, but got no response from the manager or corporate. Good afternoon, Elma, we were unhappy with our stay.

At 5:30 in the morning there was no breakfast out, so the night shift guy made me a breakfast bag to take. He was super polite and gave excellent service. The system was down, but the Spanish man with braces, I believe, stayed calm and got me into a room after a few minutes, then handled my information later. This was on the Feb 9-10 night shift. Give him a raise. I'll stay here again 👍🏽

The shower never got properly hot, just warm enough to put up with, and the pillows weren't very comfortable. Otherwise, it was a nice hotel close to the airport, with a free shuttle. The gym was a decent size, with cardio machines and free weights. I liked having a smart TV in the room, and the bed was comfortable.
