Hacienda Motel

The short Indian woman at the front desk with a thick accent turned my fiancée, our one-year-old baby, and me away last night, 9/23/2025, because she wanted us to get a room with two beds. We explained that we’re partners and didn’t need two beds, but she kept pushing us to buy that room. I felt she was homophobic and didn’t want two women sharing a room with one bed. Disgusting customer service and severe homophobia.

The front desk staff are respectful and friendly, and the rooms are always clean. It’s a private, well-maintained hotel with a relaxing pool for families and kids. There aren’t roaches or riffraff like at the San Jacinto INN, and no drug addicts hanging around there either. I’m very happy here. 😁

It’s quiet, but the manager is very rude and speaks to people nastily. When we asked for a late checkout, she walked into the room, started unplugging everything and yelled at us to get out. She charged us for a stained towel that had already been given to us that way. She really needs to work on her customer service.

The place was packed, which was bizarre given how bad it was. We came down for my sister’s funeral and planned to stay two extra days to visit friends, but we changed our plans and drove home right after the funeral. I’m 67 and have stayed in plenty of motels, but this was the worst. The rooms were filthy and smelled so strongly that I had to sleep with toilet paper in my nose. I told my husband I’d sleep in the car if I woke up and he was gone. The old carpets were so dirty we wouldn’t go barefoot. We thought the smell was damp carpet that had dried, but it smelled like mold. After booking, I read the reviews and brought our own king-size sheets and pillows. I laid our sheets over the bed without pulling their blankets back. We kept our suitcase in the car, and everything else on the bathroom tile, not the carpet. I wouldn’t even put anything on the end table. There were no lamps. Opening the closet made the smell overwhelming. We couldn’t afford another hotel, so we had to put up with it. The woman spoke loudly and was rude. I couldn’t understand her language. From now on, it’ll be a Motel 6, Best Western or Quality Inn. The extra money is worth it.
