Rose Garden Inn - San Jose Airport

When we got back around 5 p.m. on the second night, our room was still dirty and hadn’t been cleaned at all. We’d left at 9 in the morning, so there’d been plenty of time. At the desk they said the cleaning staff was at lunch and it would take about two hours to get the room cleaned. We had to ask for a different room ourselves. No one offered one, and there was no apology or solution from the staff. I’ve never had this happen before. The poor service and lack of professionalism made the stay disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The room had the basics, but no rack for hanging clothes, and the thin walls let us hear everything. The jacuzzi tub was why I booked: it was the only room in town with one. At check-in they warned that parties and loud noise wouldn’t be accepted, and they seemed eager to get the booking. My husband stepped on a sewing needle while walking barefoot. Looking more closely, he found eight more. There was nobody at the desk to complain to. The jacuzzi was missing all its knobs, and the lighting throughout was very dim. Then they charged me $60.00 for a towel I’d used to stop a nosebleed caused by high blood pressure. It had maybe six drops of blood on it. I strongly suggest rethinking a booking at the ROSE GARDEN HOTEL, SAN JOSE, CA.

I used to stay here all the time when I was in San Jose on business. It was comfortable, and the staff used to be really nice and friendly. That’s no longer the case. Management changed sometime in the last five months, and the manager is very snobby. There’s no ice machine, no coffee pot in the refrigerator, and half the rooms have no swimming pool. It used to feel pretty private, but now people are in your business. I wouldn’t recommend staying here anymore.

They falsely accused me of taking towels. Even without that, the stay was miserable: the place was filthy, with stains and a trashed bathroom. It feels like false charges are necessary to keep the business going.
