There are several decent restaurants within walking distance, and the pool is small but does the job. The rooms were clean, though tighter and smaller than in most motels. They provide ice buckets, but there’s no ice machine, so, yeah. Service had that standard California couldn’t-be-bothered feel: people were friendly and polite, but there was absolutely no urgency.

The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was decent, but the room needs some care. Holes had putty over them without paint, screws stuck out of the walls, the old door lock had holes and peeling paint, and some cut wires were left there with no idea what they were for. My room also missed maid service on my first day. I didn't mind much since I'm not a messy traveler. I only realized it was a two-star hotel when I arrived, and now I understand why. It seems suited to partying kids, but I'd look elsewhere for a family stay or a trip.

In person, this place was the opposite of how it looked online. It seemed to be falling apart, and my room was dirty, including the sheets. The host was horrible and the staff weren't friendly. I could hear the people in the next room, and the area had a lot of homelessness, so make sure you lock your doors. I won't book here again.

The room was really comfortable, and the large, brand-new mini fridge was a luxury I needed after a few days of camping and a birthday party. It definitely came in handy. The hotel seemed clean and secure, with a good distance to activities and sights. It was close to downtown and within walking distance of the tech museum. We also liked the pool, with the sauna, steam room, and fitness room connected to the pool area. Breakfast next door had a fair selection compared with places on the rest of our trip, though I wish there'd been some hot food options. We'll stay again.
