Mecca Motel

We didn't stay. I rented two rooms, but the first was so disgusting we left. Outlets were hanging out of the walls, and there was a small hole in the bathroom window frame that looked like a rodent hole. When we pulled back a corner of the first bed's sheets, we found several bed bugs on the mattress. We ran. I'd sleep in my car first. This place should be shut down. 🤮

Don't expect the rooms to be wheelchair accessible. Ours was somewhat accessible, but the bathroom definitely wasn't unless you can walk. Don't come alone expecting to make it work. The location gets a four from me since it's only 10 to 15 minutes from cedar point. The carpet was old and smelled, and there were hardly any amenities, just a small fridge, microwave, and cable.

As soon as I unlocked the door, I wasn't happy with the room. It smelled musty, the old furniture was broken, and the worn-out mattresses were extremely uncomfortable. The box-style TV had a blurry picture, the towels and washcloths smelled musty, and I had to run the shower for 15 minutes before the water was warm enough. I brought my own towels and washcloths. In the morning, I found thousands of tiny ants in the bathroom and one of the beds. The WiFi barely worked, and plugs kept falling out of the old outlets. I went to the office to talk with the manager/owner, but she was rude and defensive. I asked for my money back and she refused, saying I was the only person who had ever complained, which I find hard to believe. The room door had no deadbolt, just a handle lock that could easily be opened with a credit card or one kick. I didn't feel safe and stayed awake most of the night. We chose the place because of its 6.5 rating and because it was close to where we needed to be the next day, but this motel is nowhere near a 6.5. I'd never recommend it or stay again.

For 60 bucks and the closeness to Cedar Point, it's worth it. The maid service was amazing, with beautifully folded towels, and it was the best toilet paper I've ever used. But maintenance was awful, with broken windows and framework. The shower was so small I hit my head and it still hurt the next day.
