My boyfriend surprised me by decorating a room for my birthday, and we had a wonderful time. The area was quiet and peaceful, the other guests were great, and there was no yelling or homeless loitering. Everything worked properly, from the TV and plumbing to the air conditioning and heat, stove, and fridge. The rooms were clean, and the bathroom gave us no trouble, which is always the big thing for me, lol. Mrs. Nadia and Yolanda at the front desk were the best part. Their customer service was absolutely superb, and they’ve got a wonderful sense of humor. They should be comedians. They’re easy to reach, full of laughter and angelic energy. If you’re dirty and uptight, this isn’t the place for you, so take that elsewhere. Thanks for everything. You deserve a raise, and we’ll see you next year.

For an extended-stay hotel, this is about as good as it gets compared with the others I’ve tried around Atlanta. Extended Stay America in Vinings was phenomenal, though. This isn’t a five-star place, and it has pros and cons. A lot of whether your stay goes well depends on the other guests. Manager Todd is usually good at sorting out problems. The surrounding area is superb, with a nice atmosphere and restaurants.

We paid for a week and planned to extend, but the manager was so rude to my son and treated us cruelly that we had to leave. The front desk called and claimed my son had been rude and the manager wanted him gone. My son said the manager knocked and demanded payment or that we leave, instead of professionally asking if we planned to extend. Then the manager kicked us out and threatened to call the police. I’d already made a reservation for another week. We’re quiet, religious people, and I can’t see any reason we were treated this way. Guest relations said we had to leave and couldn’t stay, and when I asked why, an Indian woman said corporate had made the decision. The place is infested with roaches and has old appliances, yet they charge $500 a week and can’t keep the property up. The manager and the Black woman with glasses need to be fired. This was unprofessionalism at its worst. I’ve never had this kind of treatment at a hotel.

The rooms were dirty when we checked in. We moved the couch and found spilled stuff underneath. The place is crawling with roaches, even along the hallway walls, and I’d worry about them following you home with your belongings. Rooms are falling apart, with busted cabinets, torn couch cushions, and a pullout bed with flattened springs that felt like they’d stab you. There’s no maintenance to speak of, and the advertised exercise room doesn’t exist. The washers and dryers usually don’t work and take your money. The outside door access points are broken, so you have to use the main entrances. Staff threaten to kick people out for no reason, including over things that have nothing to do with them. It smells like weed constantly, and drug dealers hang around the parking lot all day and night. The fire alarms also go off randomly, forcing everyone to leave the building. We spent thousands and were miserable and sick all the time. We’ll be contacting the health department. This place should be shut down. You’d be better off sleeping in a tent outside, where at least you expect to be.

Roaches were everywhere, including the bathroom, kitchen floor, and countertops. I woke at 1:30 a.m. to small and medium ones all over the kitchen, threw away all my food, then later found a nest inside the alarm clock. The place smelled like a dead skunk, the hallways needed cleaning, and the room carpets were incredibly dirty. It was disgusting. I’m never booking here again, and I’d give zero stars if I could.
