Springhill Suites by Marriott Orlando North/Sanford

Breakfast was solid, and the staff were incredible. The location is central and convenient, too. The room itself felt unclean and not up to the SpringHill name for what I paid. The carpet tiles were dirty and needed replacing, the bathroom smelled like sewage, and the lighting was so dim I could barely put in my contacts. The AC and bathroom fan were noisy, and the furniture was outdated. None of that was the staff's fault.

I can't say enough about how wonderful the people here were. Everyone went out of their way to help, from suggesting dinner spots to assisting when I lost my glasses. Thanks so much, Felecia.

The room had a fridge, microwave, and coffee machine, though as a Brit I would've preferred a kettle for my tea. Staff were friendly and always willing to help. There was renovation work going on, but I neither saw nor heard it, and it didn't affect my stay. Everything else was on point, and I'd definitely stay again on my next Orlando visit.

The construction noise was extremely loud, making it nearly impossible for me to sleep or focus during a work-related stay. The hotel hadn't disclosed the ongoing work, and I have audio and video evidence of the noise and my discomfort. I came to study required material for my education and career with Waste Pro, on an employer-arranged trip. I had called SpringHill Suites by Marriott Orlando North/Sanford before arriving to confirm my dog was allowed, and was told yes. My dog is a legally protected service animal under federal law, but management later challenged that and turned it into an unnecessary, hostile situation. Shortly before I left, the manager escalated things on his own terms instead of trying to resolve it fairly or respectfully. It showed a serious lack of understanding of service animal regulations. The way management handled and communicated the situation misrepresented my character and directly contributed to my being terminated from the job that sent me there. The effect has been devastating, personally and professionally. A stranger also tried to enter my room without permission. Between that, the service animal issue, the manager's aggressive handling, and the disruptive construction, this stay caused major stress and lasting consequences. The property didn't meet the standard I expect from a Marriott, especially as an Amex platinum member. I strongly warn anyone traveling with a service animal or staying for work or education to avoid this hotel. Jose Camillo
