Coffee was ready for early risers, and there was a comfy shared space to enjoy it in. John and Lisa were lovely hosts. The house was clean and comfortable, just what we expected from the earlier reviews, and they served a delicious breakfast right when we asked.

The cocktail hour felt intimate and one of a kind, like stepping back in time, and I slept better than I ever have. After days out exploring Maine, relaxing by the crackling fireplace in the lounge was a lovely way to wind down. The mansion has a calm feeling from the moment you arrive, and you can sense the care that went into building it. Breakfast was delicious, too. The hosts were such kind, creative people, and it was a pleasure to meet them. I’d happily return and recommend it for a great getaway.

We really liked how close it was to places to eat, just a short walk, and right off our scenic drive. The screened porch was a favorite, and breakfast was so good, fresh and delicious enough to make the stay memorable. John and Lisa were friendly, courteous, and super sweet. A beautiful home and a five star stay.

The breakfasts were a real treat, with the smell of bacon and homemade goodies in the morning, plus fresh local berries and vegetables from the garden. The rooms had plenty of character and felt cozy, like a home away from home. Everything was spotless, comfortable, and carefully arranged. The owners were warm and welcoming from the start, and paid close attention to the details that keep the place charming and comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay.

We only booked because we needed somewhere near Dexter to visit a family member in a nursing home, and it turned out to be a wonderful surprise. We’ve stayed at lots of B&Bs, but this was easily the best. John, Lisa, and Peanut made us feel right at home. The house is beautiful, the food was delicious, and we’d highly recommend staying here.
