Sanibel Moorings Condo Resort

We spent several weeks in a beautifully restored and decorated condo, and it made for a wonderful vacation. The price is great for what you get, and the resort is pet friendly, with many places to eat nearby. We really think this is the best place to stay on Sanibel Island. The staff are what make the difference, especially Manager Kari, who turns a good experience into a great one. This was our third visit, but our first since the hurricane. The property looks as if the storm never happened, unlike many other places that still look as though it happened yesterday. The landscaping has been restored into a tropical garden. There’s a grill and picnic area, laundry on site, and two heated pools. Most condos welcome dogs. It’s a calm, serene place with outstanding staff.

If you’re looking to get away from everything like I am, this place feels close to paradise. The beach is amazing and always has shells, and the beautiful grounds keep you close to the gulf. It’s a perfect spot to slow down and reconnect with yourself or the people you love, at whatever pace suits you.

We loved how easy it was to get around without a car. We could bike to our favourite spots, including Gramma Dots, Wickies, Lighthouse cafe, and Dantes, and it was an easy ride along East Gulf. The location also made getting on and off the island simple. Our second floor beach condo was beautiful, sunny, and cozy, in a well spaced group of eight unit condos. ❤️

The resort has made a lot of progress since Ian, though there’s still plenty of work to do. Many units remain gutted and are waiting for renovation. It’s convenient to the beach, and there are lots of people working to make the place amazing again. I can’t wait to see it once it’s finished. Our unit, 112, had terrific beach views and was nicely cleaned up. The A/C worked well, and the front desk staff were very pleasant. The bed was firmer than my wife would’ve liked, though it was fine for me. One night I got up to use the loo, turned on the bathroom light, and a roach about the size of my thumb came out from under the sink between the cabinet and floor tile. A flip flop took care of it quickly. With the cleanup after Ian, I see that as a construction issue rather than a resort problem. A great stay overall, and I’d stay again.
