I booked this hotel because I was having surgery and wanted somewhere I could relax without catching germs beforehand. The first room’s heater wasn’t working. We watched a young man try to fix it for an hour and a half, then he called someone else to help. About 30 minutes later the young man cut his hand, and there was blood everywhere. Both men left. I waited five minutes for someone to return, then went to the front desk and explained what happened. They said they’d send someone to clean, but I wanted a different room, so they gave me one. It felt like they didn’t care. The manager didn’t call me back, even though I tried to get hold of them every day. The pool isn’t heated. The claim that it’s nine miles from Disneyland is a lie. The only good thing at the restaurant was the bacon. I’ve stayed at a lot of Holiday Inns, and this was the worst. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

For a budget hotel, five stars might seem odd, but you get a lot for what you pay. It’s clean and well located, with breakfast included in a welcoming dining area, all at a really good price. We’d happily stay again.

We came back for a second stay, eight months after our first, which was in June ’25. This time was February ’26. The location is the best part: not as fancy as Irvine, but Irvine, Anaheim, and Tustin are only 5-10 minutes away, with lots of good restaurants in those areas. It’s an old, standard hotel, with low ceilings and dated bathrooms. The rooms have Dove body wash, shampoo, and hand wash, which is nice since plenty of hotels don’t provide hand wash. The beds are surprisingly comfortable for an older place, breakfast has a good variety, and parking is free. The front desk staff are courteous. We got two complimentary water bottles on our first stay, but this time they had gift bags on view and didn’t offer them. The towels are very scratchy, and bathroom cleaning could be better, especially behind the taps. The A/C is locked to a set temperature, so we couldn’t adjust it. A nearby train track means frequent horn noise from 5 AM until midnight, which can bother light sleepers. Traffic and police car or ambulance sirens are also heard very often, and that’s really annoying.

The hotel itself was nice for the price, with good rooms and a good breakfast. The beds were made and fresh towels were brought daily. My main issues were the bathroom, which wasn’t very clean when we arrived, especially the toilet, and a broken shower door. The surrounding area didn’t feel great, with lots of homeless people and drug addicts around. I didn’t feel very safe there.

We had a fantastic three-day stay and would definitely come back. The rooms were very clean and well kept, and the staff were welcoming, friendly, and professional. Breakfast was delicious and had plenty of variety. Everything went well from beginning to end, and I’d gladly recommend the hotel.
