Inn By The Harbor

The garden and pool areas are lovely, and the inner courtyard gave us the feeling of being in a tropical rainforest. The staff were kind and helpful, and breakfast was complimentary, plentiful, and amazing. We stayed two nights in November. It's well placed between the city and coast, and our room had plenty of space to spread out. The rooms look somewhat dated, but were comfortable. Even our teens called the place cozy, which is quite a compliment. We'd definitely stay again.

Sam made exploring much easier. He shared lots of restaurant, sightseeing, and activity ideas, then drew us a small map the next day showing good places to visit on the hotel's complimentary bikes. Daniel was friendly too, recommending a pizza place that really hit the spot and telling us we could use the hot tub at the sister property. The front desk team helped make our Santa Monica trip memorable from check-in onward. We appreciated both Sam and Daniel's kindness and attention, and we'll absolutely be back.

The online photos don't reflect the state of the rooms, and I wouldn't come back. At this price, I expected a much better stay. The room was dusty and dated, the carpet looked dirty, and there were ants. The bathroom had no extractor fan, and rain leaked through the cover over the exterior stairs. The TV didn't work when we arrived. Staff replaced it, but it should have worked from the start at this price. My partner's key didn't work either, which added to the hassle. This is advertised in a misleading way as a three-star hotel, but felt like a basic motel with a vacancy sign out front. Other hotels in the same price range are cleaner and more comfortable.

Really comfy beds, friendly and helpful staff, and free parking. The rooms looked recently made over, with USB and USB-C adapters. They also provided a pack and play for the baby, which was great.
