Royale Inn Motel

The WiFi was good, and I appreciated having a microwave, kitchen, and TV with HDMI. The room was comfortable enough for our two-day stay, though it wasn’t as clean as I’d hoped. I had allergy issues, and there was a little mold in the shower. Otherwise, a good stay, and thanks to the owners.

The location was awful. At 8:32 pm on 12/17/25, the concierge wouldn’t give me a room. They first said it was $85 plus a $15 deposit, then after I went to an off-site ATM, told me the deposit was $50. 🤧

We lasted about 10 minutes before the smell and conditions had me gagging. It was filthy and felt unsafe, the worst place I’ve ever seen. I expected safety and comfort, but got neither. I’ve stayed in plenty of outdated motels, and this one manages to hit every worst-case hotel scenario. It really is that bad. When we switched on the lights, roaches ran across the floor. The bathroom floor was muddy, the single towel had dirt stains, and the white shower curtain had red marks. There were scratches and graffiti on the mirrors, mud and dirt on the floors, and stains on the bed sheets and pillows. The walls had blood and food stains. As soon as we walked in, the stench was horrible, like mold and cigarettes. A woman who seemed unsettling was yelling and chased out of the second floor. It looked like there might be gang activity. The good reviews are definitely fake, and the pictures are nothing like the actual place. This is false advertising. Nobody should have to stay somewhere this unsanitary and unsafe. There are no refunds, so save yourself the money and headache. Avoid this place at all costs. It makes Motel 6 look like a five-star hotel.

I still don’t know why we booked this place. It was our first time in a motel, so maybe I’m not the right person to compare it with others, and perhaps I shouldn’t have expected much. The room looked like it had been cleaned, judging by the really strong detergent smell, but it didn’t feel clean to me. I didn’t want to touch anything. That night was a nightmare.
