Americas Best Value Inn - Lamplighter

For a one-night stop, this older motel turned out to be a great find. The rooms are updated, quiet, and much nicer than you might expect from the outside, and everything was very clean. Check-in was simple, the staff were friendly, and there was plenty of easy parking. Downtown is about a 10-minute drive, which was no trouble since driving around here has been easier than in many other cities I’ve visited. I’m glad I paid attention to the reviews. With this place available, I don’t see the point of paying $300-400 at some of the other hotels. I’d happily stay here again.

Good value for the price. The bed was comfortable, the place was clean, and I liked that there was no carpet, just hard floors. The bathroom is dated but works fine, and there were plenty of towels. Room 105’s heater rattled terribly, though it worked well. We wear earplugs, so it wasn’t an issue. The coffee and waffles at breakfast were good, and everything was very clean. The English muffins and biscuits, though, were hard as rocks. The front desk staff were nice. Very basic, but a decent stay for the money.

The owner was welcoming and very accommodating, and the staff were always around. Our room felt secure, clean, comfortable, and spacious. It was nice to get good towels and a fun range of breakfast choices without paying top dollar. Coffee was available all the time. We hope to come back.

The room was on the cramped side compared with other hotels, but it had been updated recently and was spotless. The shower, fridge, microwave, and outlets were all modern and worked well. The heater took a while to warm things up, and the main bedroom lights were a little dim, though the lighting was fine for me. A very good value. The woman at the front desk was welcoming and kind. I’d stay again.
