Baymont by Wyndham Santa Fe

The price was nearly $200 with tax, and the stay was disappointing enough that the other hotels we used on this trip for $100 felt like five-star places by comparison. The toilet kept running through the night, and the breakfast coffee tasted awful. We also found queen sheets and a queen mattress pad on our king bed, so the fitted sheet kept slipping off. The flat sheet had a big stain, hidden from view because it had been put on backwards. I can't say for sure if that was intentional. This was our first stay at a Baymont, and it'll be our last. Check the bedding on your king bed, you might find the same issue.

The place is clean and well managed, though some areas feel dated. There are nice pet-friendly rooms, but not much nearby for walking a dog, which was manageable. Breakfast is basic and warm, and coffee and tea are available in the lobby around the clock. I'd stay again.

The room was filthy and smelled strongly of smoke. There were bugs and sticky marks in the bedside table, the remote didn't work, and the door wouldn't close properly. Clean sheets were left for us to put on the bed ourselves, because I don't think the ones on it had been changed. Nothing matched what the website promised. The staff weren't helpful and didn't offer assistance. We had to wait while one of them was on a cell phone. To make it worse, they refused to refund us. Definitely my worst hotel stay.

We were charged double, even though the pool was permanently shut down. The rooms felt damp and were dirty, and the bathroom looked like a public restroom. We stayed here last night.
