The rooms and property were very clean, and there was a nice Southwestern feel to the hotel and its setting. Staff were super friendly. Still, the bed was just okay, and the stay wasn't especially quiet or peaceful. I could easily hear people walking past to and from the on-site restaurant. There was no fridge in the room, and the Wi-Fi was probably the slowest I've had at a hotel. For me, the value depends on what you're after. I expected a quiet, serene place to rest comfortably with some nice amenities, so it wasn't a great match. It felt like most of what I paid for was the location. I wanted a little more for the money, and personally wouldn't return.

The highlight for my wife and me was the warm hospitality throughout our visit. The breakfast staff member was attentive and kept checking that we had coffee or anything else we needed. Jared at the front desk handled a room change based on our reservations really well, and John, the parking attendant, was diligent and friendly. He even personally carried all our luggage from one room to the next, going well beyond what we expected. I've stayed at many hotels around the country for work and vacations, and I'd give Inn on the Alameda five stars for its caring staff. We were in Santa Fe for my wife's birthday and loved the comfortable, welcoming rooms. The location is excellent, just outside the busy area but easy to walk from. Breakfast was very good, and we had several excellent lunches and dinners at Joe's.

We first stopped in after driving Route 66, looking for a drink and somewhere to research places to stay. We found Joe’s tequila bar, where the service was excellent. Tracy checked whether a room was available, and we were lucky to get one for the night, then booked a second. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we stayed three nights. The staff were all amazing, and the breakfast buffet was fantastic, unlike any we've had before. It was an easy walk to the cathedrals and the plaza. Dinner at Joe's was just as good, and we ate there two nights in a row. John, who worked out in the parking area, was the nicest guy and always made sure we had what we needed. We'd go back in a heartbeat. Don't miss this gem.

The location near The Plaza made getting around easy, and the hotel itself felt clean and welcoming. We also used the free shuttle, which came quickly, and our driver was wonderful. John at the lot was a real highlight, so helpful and kind, and he knew the area well. Breakfast had a tasty range of options, with attentive, friendly staff. We finished the evening at Joe's Tequila Bar and really enjoyed the tequila and mezcal.

The courtyard between the buildings was such a peaceful spot, shaded by trees and full of roses, columbine, and other flowers, with patches of blue sky overhead. The grounds and gorgeous common areas add so much to Santa Fe's character. This was our third stay at the Inn on the Alameda, and we already hope to return for a fourth. We chose a suite this time and loved the private patio, roomy bedroom with a fireplace, bright living area with windows on three sides, and spacious bathroom. The decor throughout was beautiful. Though our suite faced the road, we barely noticed traffic; the windows seemed to have glass plus two plexiglas layers. Everyone was courteous and welcoming, from dining and housekeeping to the front desk. John also went to great lengths to make our difficult parking and unloading situation work smoothly. The team had prepared for it ahead of time, which made a stressful arrival in cramped downtown Santa Fe much easier. We felt more welcome here than anywhere else we've stayed, just as we did on our first two visits.
