Hotel St Francis

The lobby is gorgeous inside and out, and I can’t get over how beautiful the building is. The whole place has immaculate vibes and smells of burning sage. The attached bar is great, with excellent food and cocktails, and it’s always lively. We had a comfortable weekend as a couple, our third time here, and we’ll definitely be back. The rooms are small but comfy, with antique features, beautiful fixtures, and Spanish colonial and Mexican rustic furniture. Valet parking was quick, easy, and attentive. You can walk to almost anything in Santa Fe in under ten minutes, with a few exceptions. It’s close to everything.

The lack of AC was rough, though the temperatures were 20 degrees above normal and that seems like a temporary issue. As a historic property, the rooms are a bit like those in Europe, with limited space for toiletries, and it’s not really a family hotel. There’s a lot to like: the location is unbeatable, and the historic feel, wonderful art and decor, comfortable front porch, easy valet parking, and especially the warm staff are all strong points. It’s quiet and inviting, and we’d certainly consider staying again.

The Gruet tasting room connection was a real treat for a sparkling wine fan, and Secreto bar had a fun atmosphere and interesting cocktails. The location is spectacular, and the staff were very attentive. Valet was free, and our car was waiting outside within three minutes. The beds, linens, service, and on-site bars were all great. My only drawback was the lack of breakfast, though they do offer good coffee, Rishi tea, and breakfast-style cookies in the morning. I'm so glad I picked this hotel.

We come back every year, and Santa Fe wouldn't feel complete without staying here. It's just steps from the Square, with lovely rooms, great service, and an upscale bar and restaurant. Highly recommend it.
