The Hacienda & Spa at Hotel Santa Fe

Everything felt magical during our stay in the Hacienda. Our dog Halston loves traveling and checking out dog-friendly hotels, and Hotel Santa Fe has been the most dog-friendly place we’ve stayed in the City of Santa Fe. The food and hospitality were excellent. Mr. Lawrence Archuleta is very professional and never misses a detail, and Misty the bartender is always friendly and kind. We can’t wait to return.

Your landscaper does a very good job. The grounds have a strong “Under the Sea” feel without seeming too [on porpoise]. Pass it on! Yours truly, Spawn.

What makes this hotel stand out is the service. We stayed in the Mesa Verde Suite in the Hacienda, and I’d choose it again if we returned. It’s worth paying for the upgrade. The room itself is fine, though older and without a real view. Having a butler and concierge available was a lovely touch, and not something you generally get at other hotels of this quality. The hotel is about three-quarters of a mile from the plaza, with a shuttle if you’d rather not walk.

The property is nicely maintained in a Southwestern style, with sculptures and a Native American feel that we loved. The hotel has a relaxed atmosphere that felt refreshing compared with national brands, and staff throughout were warm and friendly. K2 was informative when we arrived. We needed a safe, so we had to switch out of our traditional room. We were surprised a safe wasn’t standard, but appreciated being moved to an upgraded room at no charge. Our room had a couch, fridge, microwave, and two TVs. The bed was mostly comfortable, although the vanity was right beside it, so turning on the light shone it directly onto the bed. A door between the sink and toilet area gave some privacy. We had booked two rooms. We ate breakfast one morning and dinner one evening. Both restaurant visits were pleasant, and the food was good. The free shuttle was five-star service. Every driver we met, TJ, Kevin, and I think Pete, was very nice. There was never a long wait, and the ride app was easy to use. We really enjoyed that service. Parking was easy, with ample space for our SUV at the back.
