The shoreline is beautiful, the view from the patio is unobstructed, and getting down to the beach from this unit is easy. The patio setup, though, is very uncomfortable, with metal stools around a metal table. Inside, the furniture feels cheap and mismatched, like garage sale finds, and none of it is comfortable or appealing. The decor runs from the walls to the floors and feels junky. Although the unit is said to be pet-free, most of the wall art is about dogs, which made us wonder if the owner's dogs have full run of the place. Much of the other wall art looks homemade. Several handles, racks, and holders are in varying states and need repair. It also needs a thorough cleaning. I rarely write reviews, but this unit at EASTERN SHORES 207, 595 Eastern Lake Rd, Santa Rosa Beach, FL deserved one. Benchmark Management showed no meaningful regard for our disappointment. It felt like they were only in it for the money.
The view was beautiful, and the beach was nice and private. The room itself needed repairs: the sofa and loveseat were heavily stained, and the couch pillows were filthy. We covered the furniture with used sheets and deep-cleaned the unit with Clorox before settling in. The mattress was very uncomfortable.
The view was great, but the unit wasn't clean by any measure. Our feet turned black from walking around, and one towel had a bar of soap wrapped inside it with hair around it. The furniture was dated and scuffed, and the kitchen didn't have a good selection of dishes or utensils. I expect a vacation condo to be at least as clean as my home, and this one wasn't. It sleeps nine, yet they provide only one parking spot. Do the math.
We stayed in 102, which seemed more updated than our friend's condo a few doors away. It was a great place to unwind, and we had a really good time. Parking is tight, but it wasn't a problem. The place felt adult-friendly, and everyone was friendly, with no hassles. Mornings on the patio with Bloody Marys and Dude setting up the rental chairs and umbrellas on the beach were a highlight. Later we'd have beers and watch them pack it all away.
Our honeymoon was wonderful, and the condo was clean, had a great view, and was in a perfect spot. The property manager was the downside. We rented a golf cart for the week, and he got furious about us parking it there, even though there weren't any signs saying carts couldn't be parked there. He didn't offer a warning or try to understand, and swore at my husband while saying he was “being nice” that day. We still had a great honeymoon and didn't run into the Grinch again. I'd recommend these condos, but don't rent a cart!
