Home2 Suites Santa Rosa Beach

My Tractor trailer broke down, so I had to find somewhere at the last minute. This place turned out to be better than I expected from a hotel. The breakfast was excellent, and the rooms were spacious and stocked for a staycation. It's on a peninsula surrounded by water, just steps from the beach. Walmart is right across the street, an easy two-minute walk. I loved staying here.

Ricky Johnson at the front desk was so patient when I couldn't get online for an important Zoom meeting. He took the time to sort out the WiFi problem, even though it took a while, and saved the day. He was polite and sharply dressed too, details I notice. The hotel itself is modern, clean, and has everything you need, with beaches close by. We'll stay here again next time.

We arrived at 1:55 am, but the hotel had already audited before we got there. Howard at the front desk was incredibly rude and wouldn't give us our room or refund our money, even though I tried patiently to sort it out. He said refunds weren't his job and we'd have to wait six hours for a manager. He showed no interest in helping. Since we'd spent our budget on that night and couldn't find another place, we slept in the Walmart parking lot until 8 am. Howard said the manager should be there at 8:30, so we waited until 9:15, but nobody showed. We still haven't received a refund. I've never had treatment this poor at a Home 2 Suites. They took our money and offered no solution. When we finally reached a hotel representative, she said Howard could easily have refunded us but chose not to.

The front desk staff member was kind and professional, and refunded us right away with a sincere apology. I hope the problem gets resolved quickly, as she assured us it would. We left and washed and treated everything we'd brought into the room. We'd booked because the hotel was new and had such good reviews, but there was a bug in the room when we first entered. We didn't think too much of it, then came back about four hours later to find an adult German cockroach and several smaller ones. I was horrified since German cockroaches can multiply very quickly. I'll spare you the photo, they really are gross.
