We got around by bike almost everywhere, 99.9% of the time. Dad didn't spring for a golf cart, though there were plenty around. Even with all the crowds, the club staff managed things well, and we could always find lounge chairs without getting up at 7 a.m. to claim them. Lots of people return here year after year, which says something. My wife also liked being greeted politely with “Yes ma'am” by kids and teens. We loved our stay and would come back with another family, this time renting a larger home.

My son had a blast on the slides, and the margarita from the bar was fantastic. The ground gets really hot, so bring water shoes. Ordering at the cafe was difficult because the staff there didn't speak English, and my $10 Caesar salad was so plain and soggy that I ended up throwing it away.

The new pool at Watercolor Resort was worth waiting for. What used to be a small pool with no food or drinks now has a lazy river, zero entry, heated water, palm trees, lots of slides, and food and drinks. Well done, Watercolor.

The kids liked the water slides and the ice cream stand, and the lazy river was nice too. Get there early if you want a beach chair in the shade.

The 10:30 a.m. opening is why I gave it one star. It should open at 8:30 a.m., like the other pools. Families with kids should know about the late start.
