Seagrove Beach has wide beaches, good food, and friendly people, all along beautiful 30A. The luxury spot above the Surfing Deer restaurant feels high-end. #CleanDarkFlat.
The beach was one of our favorite parts. It's a short walk through the pool area, and you come out onto a beautiful stretch of sand. You can request four chairs and two umbrellas each day, but you have to be there for setup, and they'll take them down after 30 minutes. We chose this condo in large part for that access. The condo itself was a good size for our family, our parents, and three small kids. Before arrival, communication was good and we got the entry codes promptly. The kitchen had nearly all the accessories we needed, and the air conditioning worked well, though the back bedrooms get much colder than the ocean-view rooms up front. The floors were so dirty that socks and bare feet turned black quickly. Other towels were provided, but there were no beach or pool towels, so bring your own. The pool and ocean views are lovely. The pool was beautiful and often quiet during the day, but the mornings brought beer cans, liquor bottles, and clothing left around. I cleaned up before my kids swam for the first two days. On the third night, we saw local teens climbing the front gate or coming in from the beach around 8 p.m. More than 50 boys and girls took over the private pool for a party. Royal Destinations told us they'd act immediately after we called, but the party went on until midnight. The next morning the area was strewn with trash, bottles, clothes, and vomit; the pool had sand in it and a nasty blob at the bottom. We contacted the property again and someone cleaned it later that day. We were disgusted at the thought of our kids swimming there. Teens started coming back the fourth night. After what felt like a poor response from the property, we told them to leave several times, but they flooded back as soon as we went away. Other condo guests were upset too, so we called the police. An officer arrived around 10 p.m. and the teens scattered, though many simply walked past and others ran. There were probably 60 or 70 of them, and they talked about where they planned to go next. Nobody was arrested. Locals told us this wasn't an isolated event and happened often. Thankfully, the pool was clean on our last day. It's a beautiful pool, but renters should know locals may invade it and leave trash, vomit, or pee behind. With kids or if you want to use the pool, I'd think twice. The condo and beach access were great, but having dirty floors and teens trashing the pool meant we couldn't enjoy a third of what we paid for, which was really disappointing. When I spoke with someone at Royal Destinations, they asked what refund would make me happy and said the owners would ask me not to leave a bad review if I got one. I wonder how many others have had the same experience.
There just aren't words for it.
