Foxhunt at Sapphire Valley

Our kids loved the place, and we found it very clean and well kept. We stayed in a two-bedroom townhouse, with a roomy master bedroom and lots of space for everyone to spread out in the living and dining areas. The kitchen was modern and new. The style of the units is a little dated, but it fits the experience and they're still in great shape. You get an amenity card for the Sapphire Ski resort, and the location is convenient. For the price, I can't complain. I'd recommend it to anyone who isn't expecting a high-end resort experience.

The townhouses were clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Just be aware the amenities are about a mile from the residences. There are pools, playgrounds, a gym, lake water activities, and golf, but they're not close by.

My family and I enjoyed our stay. The condo was reasonably priced, booking was generally easy, and it was very nice, with a modern kitchen well stocked with cooking items. Everything in the condo worked well. Booking through foxhunt gave us discounted skiing and tubing rates and access to the community center, which had a heated indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, arcade, and putt-putt. I had an issue with my reservation, but it was eventually resolved. A couple of things caught me by surprise, though they weren't deal breakers. The check-in office is near the skiing office, but the condos are about 0.5-1 mile down HWY 64, not in the same area as the booking office. If the main office is closed, the instructions send you to check in at the Public Safety/Police station, which felt odd and uncomfortable from a privacy standpoint. The reservation problem took a lot of effort to get resolved. It was sometimes hard to reach a representative or management, and I had to keep following up. As I mentioned, the issue was ultimately resolved.

When the weather spoils outdoor plans, there's very little entertainment here, and what they do offer seems like another way to price gouge. The place might have been cool 20-some years ago, but now it's severely outdated and not cleaned. It's starting to compete with Tower of Terror for cobwebs. They could update the 20-year-old TVs and clean some of those spiderwebs for what they charge. If you don't reach the office in time, they won't explain the crazy scavenger hunt to check in. Hint: the person on the dispatch line at the police station is handling active distress calls.
