Homewood Suites by Hilton Sarasota Lakewood Ranch

The conflict over a cleanliness complaint ended with my family being made to leave, even though we were willing to stay. On day one at Homewood Suites by Hilton Sarasota Lakewood Ranch, we found dirty socks and a heavily soiled used towel under the sofa bed. I went to the desk right away. Staff kept asking whether I wanted to stay or leave, and I repeatedly said I wanted to stay. I've returned to this hotel several times, which is why I booked it again. When I asked how they would fix it, I was told nothing could be done, so I asked for a manager. General Manager Timothy Hall came and asked the same stay-or-leave question, adding that there were many hotels around. I took that as pressure to leave rather than a response to a legitimate cleanliness issue. Nobody offered a room change, immediate cleaning, or an apology. We stayed despite the hostile exchange and told staff we intended to stay two more nights. Management reluctantly allowed just one more night, with a 50% discount. By then, the issue wasn't about money, but how management treated guests who raised a concern. The next day, manager Tiffany refused to extend the stay and persistently demanded that we check out. My whole family had to leave against our will. It was humiliating, stressful, and unacceptable. To me, this shows retaliatory treatment of guests who report problems. I want future guests to know how complaints were handled at this property.

The atmosphere was friendly and positive, and the staff were very accommodating. We were there on November 6th or 7th, 2025, when the hotel was nearly full. Toni at the front desk went out of her way to find our family rooms close together on the same floor. It's a great hotel.

Silvia happily moved us when we asked because our original room was near the elevator, and the customer service was excellent. The rooms were clean and the sleeping area comfortable, though not quite five-star. Breakfast had something for everyone and was better than at any hotel in this class. We're often in the area for business and highly recommend the hotel. We'll return.

It felt more like an apartment than a hotel, and the view through the windows of all the holiday lights was hard to beat. Everything seemed brand new, and both the couch and bed were comfortable. One of the best places I've stayed. I'd absolutely love to come back.
