The pool is across the parking lot, which could bother some guests, though it didn’t bother me. The hotel feels pretty new, and the rooms are like new and very clean. Check-in was easy, the staff were courteous, and breakfast was a decent continental spread. No muffins, though.

I wouldn’t recommend Magnolia Pointe Hotel. Even though I paid for the room in cash and have the receipts, they put a hold on my account for two nights plus two security deposits. It’s been two weeks and, after several calls to the hotel, the money still hasn’t been released. I’d avoid staying here to keep from running into the same problem.

For around $130 a night, I got a big room with a kitchenette, a great heated pool, and a good breakfast. The room was very clean, the staff were nice, and the water pressure was great. I’d stay here again.

Update, 9/9: I’m still waiting for someone to contact me. We spent two nights here, and the way our concern was handled really disappointed us. The AC smelled musty not long after check-in. By the next day, my boyfriend was coughing, congested, and having trouble breathing, with symptoms that seemed consistent with mold exposure. They got worse overnight. When we checked the unit, there was visible mold inside. We told the front desk right away. They acknowledged the problem but didn’t offer a real fix while we were there, and said the manager would get in touch. Several days later, we still hadn’t heard from anyone. I expected better follow-up, especially after raising a health and safety concern. I hope the hotel inspects and maintains its air systems and responds more professionally to reports like this.
