Best Western Plaza Hotel Saugatuck

Peter at the front desk was incredibly accommodating, helpful, and friendly. He deserves a raise, whatever he gets paid! For service alone, this is a strong five stars, even compared with a much nicer hotel. The rooms were what I'd expected for the price.

The breakfast was wonderful, with plenty of healthy options, and the server kept the food well stocked. The rooms were super clean, and housekeeping works incredibly hard to keep everything tidy and organized. Staff were helpful, and the customer service was so friendly. Some other hotels could learn from this one. We love it and visit Saugatuck a few times a year, so this will be our regular place to stay.

The staff were very nice and helpful, and the beds were pretty comfortable. The room itself was decent apart from the bathroom, but the hotel felt run down and in need of an update. The bathroom floor tiles were broken and cracked, shifting and creaking underfoot, and there was a faint urine smell. The shower head leaked. Common areas didn't look very clean, and the carpet seemed like it hadn't been shampooed in a while. Breakfast had plenty of options, but the eggs tasted fake and we got the same food every day. The coffee cart in the lobby looked unclean, with the same dirty tablecloth left out all week. For the price, they need to clean the kitchen, lobby, and common areas better, shampoo the carpets, and update the place.

The management and family were so accommodating, helpful, and friendly. They helped my family with an early arrival and then with our emergency departure, and I see them treating everyone this way. I always look for a hot tub, so I was happy to have one in the room. The suites were comfortable and clean. Call ahead for a great stay!
