We could walk to the restaurants and shops from this central spot, and Douglas was about a 24-minute walk away. David was so welcoming and kind, and gave us a tour of the lightkeepers cottage. The bed was comfortable, and the shower had great pressure. We also loved having private hot tub access and a basket of delicious breakfast delivered at 9 AM each day. A fantastic stay, I couldn't have asked for more.
We had a great time in Saugatuck, and staying at Serndipity made it even better. David cooked us wonderful meals and spent time with us, and he was a lovely host. Nearly everything is an easy walk from the inn. I'd recommend Serndipity if you get the chance to visit.
The breakfast, host, and location have all been great on both of our visits. My husband and I have stayed here twice and had an amazing time each time. It's quiet and welcoming too. We love this bed and breakfast and highly recommend it.
David was a kind, pleasant, and helpful host, and made a good breakfast. We spent a weekend at Serenity to see Saugatuck and the changing leaves, and had a great time. The house has plenty of charm, and the location made getting around easy, with just a couple of minutes' walk to the places you'd want to go.
The Lightkeepers cottage gave us the privacy we badly needed after more than six years away from a trip without our two kids. Tucked down a garden path, it has a fenced courtyard with a little table and chairs and a jacuzzi, surrounded by trees and blooming flowers. The cottage was cozy, spotless, and just right for two, with everything we needed, even a teapot. David took great care of us while still giving us space. Each morning he brought a basket of delicious home-baked breakfast treats, and I still wish I could have taken some scones home. We loved the beautiful gardens from the moment we arrived. David greeted us warmly, and while he finished with another guest we looked around the charming old house and used the maps and pamphlets, which came in very handy. Serendipity is in a perfect spot for walking everywhere. The chain ferry had stopped running for the season, but if it had been operating we wouldn't have needed the car at all. Saugutuck is beautiful, and David and the Serendipity show it off so well. We made memories to last a lifetime and hope to come back soon.
