Starlite Resort

We got in late after a three-hour drive, and the owners were waiting to greet us by name. She was kind and helpful. Room 16 was spacious enough and very clean, and we enjoyed a peaceful evening by one of the many fire pits. The Starlite Resort is a real gem, with clean rooms and wonderful customer service. We'll absolutely come back, and I can't recommend it enough.

Starlite has become our regular place when we visit Saugatuck. We've stayed three times this year, and both the grounds and rooms are comfortable and super clean. There are spots to relax outside, including fire pits, pergolas, a pool and hot tub, plus grills. Coffee, rolls, and cereal are available every morning. Walt usually checks us in and is a gem, and his daughter Rachel is great too. We love this family motel.

We had a quiet winter getaway here and really enjoyed it. The motel is older, but it was very, very clean. Our room had new carpeting, and the bathroom was lovely.

The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the maid service friendly and outgoing. At first we thought we'd found a hidden gem. It might be a good fit without kids, but I wouldn't recommend it for a family. We arrived at 2:45 for a 3:00 reservation and hadn't read the rules, so the older man at the counter spent about 15 minutes going through them. It felt invasive, like everything we did was a violation. We cut the conversation short and went to our room. At the pool, he came out to tell us we were disrupting others and listed the rules we'd supposedly broken. We were the only people there and weren't being loud or playing music. There were signs all around the pool, and he objected to our tweenagers doing cannonballs, walking around, getting in the hot tub, and turning its knob. Those complaints seemed bizarre, and realizing he was watching us so closely on the surveillance camera really spoiled the stay.
