Motel 6 Saukville, WI

The whole building smelled terrible, and the room was filthy. The floor was dirty, the beds had soiled sheets, and the fridge was switched off with rotten food still inside. We asked for clean bedding after checking in and got attitude from the staff. They were rude and unwelcoming throughout. There wasn't coffee, shampoo, or conditioner, just stained towels and dirty rooms. The bathtub drain was clogged, and the shower curtain was filthy too. This was honestly one of the grossest places I've ever stayed. Spend a few extra dollars somewhere that takes pride in the property and cares about guests' stays.

The beds were comfortable, but the sheets looked like someone had slept in them already and had old stains. No need to say more. It was a very basic and disappointing stay, and I won't book this motel again. The Motel 6 at Baraboo was much better, and I can recommend that one. We were three adults in one room, including my elderly mother. There were three towels in the bathroom, one child sized, plus one hand towel and one face cloth. No soap was provided. Black hair was packed into the bath drain, and I had to pull it out myself. I asked reception as politely as I could for the missing items. The woman gave me a disapproving look when she handed them over and didn't say anything. I thanked her, and she still didn't respond. I usually read reviews before booking. My mistake for skipping them this time, because if I'd read them, I wouldn't have stayed here. Guess you get what you pay for.

I stayed for eight nights. After night three, the rate went up without anyone telling me, and the room went uncleaned for two nights. The front desk couldn't have cared less. They shouldn't be in the hospitality business. I'd stayed at plenty of Motel 6 locations before this one. Some I wouldn't recommend, but I thought this was a great one: clean rooms, a good price, and a great location. Thanks for offering an affordable motel stay, but the visit ended up being very disappointing.

The shower was a real bright spot after a long day at the track. The water pressure and temperature were excellent. The toilet was another story: it took hope and a prayer to get it to flush properly. We stopped at the local Walmart after checking in and donated a plunger to the hotel's cause. You're welcome. We had a two room “suite” for Road America, but there was nowhere decent to sit. No couch or proper chair, just a rolling office chair the people downstairs probably loved, and a stained chair that looked about 40 years old. I wasn't sitting in that one. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable, with two small pillows and no spare blanket or pillow in the closet. There were only two towels, and they'd removed the hair dryer from the wall. We got two small bars of soap, but no shampoo, conditioner, lotion, or anything else. The vinyl plank floor was sticky and hadn't been mopped. It didn't look like anyone had swept before we arrived either. I found a straw wrapper and hair on it. There was no breakfast or real sitting area, and the coffee machine wasn't working properly. It was somewhere to rest your head, that's about it. At check-in, the front desk attendant kept running our card and triggered a fraud alert. She didn't apologize, just told us it was our fault.
