Comfort Inn Savannah Midtown

The staff were pleasant when my mother and I stopped in Savannah late at night on our drive to South Florida. We were exhausted after 14 hours of driving, so we stayed, though otherwise we would have left. The elevator wasn't working and our room was on the third floor. The beds were clean and comfortable, but the room was truly gross. We skipped showers and left as soon as we got up.

The elevator wasn't working, the staff seemed uncaring and unfriendly, and the room was in very poor shape. The bed was dirty, the AC creaked loudly and blew out dust, and the shower filled up while we used it. The TV wasn't smart, and the location felt a bit sketchy. Breakfast wasn't replenished: they ran out of eggs at 9 and made no more. I had to wipe the tables for my family while staff watched. It was a very bad experience. The hotel knows about it and is trying its best not to process a refund.

Andrew at the front desk gave us genuinely great service, and his suggestions were spot-on: Love's for seafood and Kim's Cafe for brunch. The mini fridge and bathroom were clean, though the bathroom needs remodeling and its fixtures and tub were worn. We weren't sure about the beds, but they turned out okay. At checkout, my daughters asked another front desk worker for extra towels and were told to bring down the dirty ones to get clean ones. Seriously, is this a YMCA? With the maintenance, cleanliness, and security issues, I won't stay here again. The hotel doesn't deserve Andrew.

The actual room looked nothing like the misleading online pictures. It was presented as a suite, but wasn't one, and there was debris on the floor as if it hadn't been vacuumed properly. The hotel is old, outdated, and not very clean. Google lists it as four stars, but it doesn't meet that standard. The elevator was out, so we carried our luggage up the stairs to the third floor, and breakfast was very poor. It didn't feel like a real Comfort Inn, more like a poorly managed franchise. Not worth the price, and I don't recommend staying here.
