Forsyth Park has plenty to do for a family. There are basketball and tennis areas, lots of parking, a kids' space by the bathrooms, and the whole park is accessible. In the center is the famous fountain. When we visited, it was lively, with art and jewelry sellers, musicians, people with pets, sunbathers, and folks sitting around. We met a couple of brothers who told us some Savannah history. They had long-sleeved dress shirts and khakis on in 80-degree weather. I broke the ice by asking if they had hot dates.

I was glad this was the first place we visited in Savannah. The park was beautifully maintained, and plaques around it explained the historical importance of different spots. I also hadn't realized how much detail the fountain had, its sculptures were beautiful. I'd wanted to see the park and fountain ever since I saw a photo years ago, and the real thing lived up to it. There are several pretty flower gardens. My companion said the Fragrant Garden smelled lovely, and the other ornamental beds were full of color.

The shady paths under the trees and Spanish moss make Forsyth Park an easy place to slow down and enjoy a walk. The fountain is iconic, too. When I visited, lots of people were taking graduation pictures, and it was easy to see why, the park makes a lovely backdrop. It's a great spot for photos, people watching, or just relaxing while taking in the city. Definitely worth a stop, even if you only have time for a short stroll.

A lovely place for a stroll or picnic, with beautiful trees and nature. There are statues, a large fountain, and a kids' area with swings, slides, and more. The field also has a big stage, probably for events and concerts.

The fountain is one of Forsyth Park's highlights, and the park is beautiful after dark. In the evening it feels quiet and makes a nice romantic place to walk. If you're in Savannah, it's well worth a visit.
