MainStay Suites Savannah Midtown

Mrs. Raven made me feel at ease over the phone when I was hesitant after reading the reviews and needed somewhere to get away. I headed over hoping for an early check-in, and when I arrived with several people ahead of me, she handled the busy desk quickly and professionally. By 1 p.m. she had me in a freshly cleaned room. The hotel is older and not perfect, but $160 for two nights was hard to beat for a clean room and bathroom, crisp sheets, a very comfortable bed, a pleasant courtyard pool with a cute gazebo seating area, and fantastic front desk service. Breakfast was included and looked good, though I didn’t try it. I also liked having drinks and sweet and salty snacks for sale in the lobby when I wanted a late-night bite. I felt safe throughout my three-night stay and really enjoyed the hotel. Mrs Raven’s lovely service, the clean room, and the price earn it five stars.

We left right away without staying the night because the conditions were unacceptable. The photos are extremely misleading, and I honestly can’t understand the 3.2-star rating. The hallway and room smelled awful, the furniture was broken and worn, and there was leftover food inside the microwave.

Every time I’ve stayed at the mainstay, I’ve had a good experience. The rooms are clean, nice, and spacious for a reasonable price, and the amenities are great. The staff are polite and helpful, especially ms. Raven at the front desk. She’s so sweet, has wonderful energy, and her smile is contagious!

I stayed here over Labor Day weekend for a short staycation. The room doors stick, like they’ve been painted over. When a friend came to visit, he asked the front desk how to find my room, and the guy nearly gave out my information, including my name. That’s a security breach. The walls are thin too. I could hear the people next door having sex loudly, and the cheap pipes screeched when I turned on the water. I could also hear other guests showering. After I went out to meet my sister in the parking lot, my key stopped working, so I had to drive around to the front for a replacement.
