Municipal Grand

We’re already thinking about another Savannah trip just to stay here again. The room was spotless, and I notice the little things. There are thoughtful touches everywhere, from the lighting and keys to the coasters and shower tile. The design is beautiful and really well done. The front desk gals were kind, and the bartenders were fun. Shout out to Brayden. The whole place has the right feel, and the Death & Co crew absolutely killed it.

I came to The Municipal Grand in Savannah for my birthday weekend and would absolutely come back. Check-in was smooth, there was a courtesy drink on tap, and the room key setup was cute. The location is convenient, and the old-world decor feels refined without being pretentious. The lobby bar and restaurant were elegant, and the bartender was professional and courteous. The street-level bar was great, but the downstairs “speakeasy” was a big miss. It felt like an ordinary downstairs bar with dim lighting and loud music, so we left without ordering and walked a few blocks to a really nice bar. The room had a Bluetooth speaker and an iPad for room service and hospitality requests. The in-room bar and snacks were among the best I've seen. I liked the night light attached to the bed, the lighting and switches, plush robes, and the umbrellas they provided. The bed was incredibly comfortable once we got it sorted. The bathtub was actually in the room, not the bathroom, which seemed odd at first but turned out to be kind of nice. There was enough storage for two people to settle in comfortably. A few things could've been better. The carpet on our floor needed vacuuming, and the room started with only two pillows. We made do at first, then asked for two more, and slept perfectly after that. Four pillows should probably be standard. The TV also felt a bit small for such a luxurious room. Even with those misses, it was nearly perfect, and the hotel mostly delivers on its high-end aims. It just needs more consistency in the details. I'd give it 93%.

The rooms were quiet, and you really can't beat the location. It's a higher-end hotel, but you get what you pay for. The design is beautiful, with gorgeous decor and great lighting. Everyone was friendly and helpful, from the valet when we pulled up to the rooftop pool attendant and the front desk staff.

We loved the wood and brass decor, and the handheld shower was a favorite. Our bedroom, Room 304, was small, but the bathroom had plenty of space. We were close to Reynolds Square, which we enjoyed. The hotel had such nice appointments, and we were glad we stayed. We had breakfast and lunch, and the salad was perfection. We wish we'd tried dinner too. Thanks for a lovely two nights.
