Staybridge Suites Savannah Airport

I told the staff at check-in that I worked nights, especially after seeing the renovation sign. The front desk person said they were only painting and that it wouldn’t disturb me. I stayed two weeks without major problems, until they asked me to move so they could paint my room’s doors. I agreed after noticing noise and was told I’d get a quiet room. Today I had to gather all my things and move elsewhere because they were renovating the room above mine and the one across from it. They knew I needed to stay for about a month and didn’t care. They lie to keep you there. I don’t recommend this place at all. Also, they don’t give you your IHG points. Ask yourself.

The room was clean, with soft pillows, two double beds, and a sitting area. The bed was pretty hard, but not terrible. The bathroom was tiny, dim enough to need a flashlight, and had no divider around the sink area for changing. The elevator was broken and the toilet was plugged. The price was low because the hotel was being renovated, which helped the value. The area felt safe and convenient, near the interstate and other hotels. I think we hit bad timing, and I’d stay again with only two or three people traveling.

I’ve stayed here several times and used to appreciate how nice and convenient it was for the airport. Over my last few visits it’s steadily gone downhill, and this weekend was the worst. Dust was everywhere, the lobby was a wreck, and the front door wouldn’t work unless you slid it open by hand, even with luggage. I had to ask if the hotel was actually open. I’ve never seen a Staybridge in such poor shape. In room 311, the AC sounded like a car with no muffler, and the room swung from freezing to burning hot. I’m glad they’re upgrading, but renovating three floors at once at this level of occupancy seems like a terrible idea. We missed the usual gym access, a quiet room, and the warm breakfast I’d been looking forward to. The stay was lackluster and not worth the money.

If your flight is delayed and someone tries to book you here, ask for another place or pay for a different hotel. Construction dust and debris were all over the floor and in the air, with loud work on the same level. We had to squeeze past workers and tools. The key card didn’t work, and neither did the elevator. The front desk staff and manager were rude and awful. They need to close and get new employees. You’ve been warned.
