Arlene Urbano, the General manager, got back to me right away and resolved the damage to my belongings. I appreciated that a lot. The dryer ruined 4 shirts beyond repair, the sink leaked underneath on day 2, and the washers smelled like mildew or mold. I’m grateful for the hard-working front desk and housekeeping staff, and the front desk team showed the best of Texas hospitality. The breakfast is fine if you stick to the prepackaged food or cold bar, though the coffee is watered down and the waffles are great. The gym is small but has everything I use, and I really appreciated the kitchen and the roomy space. The location feels safe, traffic noise isn’t too bad, and the interstate, gas station, HEB, and buc-ees are close by. Thank you for your warmth and hospitality.

The breakfast stood out for its freshness and variety compared with other hotel brands in a similar price range. I especially liked the Greek yogurt bar, cottage cheese, and fresh fruit. The Mon-Wed happy hours were good too, and often worked as dinner: pulled pork with mashed potatoes and broccoli, or a taco bar, plus free beer and wine. I stayed here for work for over 6 months earlier this year. The rooms were large and had what I needed for a long stay, and halfway through I was upgraded to a larger suite. The pool and outdoor spaces were nice. Laundry was free and only occasionally busy, though some machines didn’t wash or dry well. Service was great, especially Mikal at the front desk, who was exceptionally helpful. It was a great value for a long-term stay in the Schertz area.

Be careful with valuables here. I accidentally left my engagement ring on the counter, and my fiancé and I turned around after being gone for maybe an hour or two. When I got back, housekeeping was cleaning the room and said they had never seen it, even though they’d already cleaned the counter where it was sitting in plain sight. The front desk told me to check with laundry services. They said they’d call me once they heard back, but never did. I had to call hours later myself. Michael was on a different shift and hadn’t been told about a possible ring in the laundry, but he did call to ask and got back to me with an update. Unfortunately, they didn’t have it. We checked our luggage again and it wasn’t there. Be mindful of important things you bring, or they too might just “disappear”.

Breakfast was great, with lots of choices and everything kept up well, and the hotel was quiet. Our family of five fit comfortably in the twin queen, one room suite with the pull out couch. The room was clean and in pretty good shape, though the beds were worn: firm around the edges with a dip in the middle that we rolled into. We’d stay again for an early flight from SAT, about 15min away. The single elevator’s door closed too fast, a small annoyance.
