Fountain Park Hotel, Bw Signature Collection

The room was lovely and clean, with a small fridge that had a big freezer compartment, a Kurig-style coffee maker with French roast and Earl Grey tea, and plenty of outlets and USB ports for charging. Breakfast had a good range of continental items, juice, different yogurts, and coffee. The property is tidy and well lit, just a stone’s throw from Fountain Hills park and the downtown venue. Dana and the day staff were especially kind and patient at check-in and checkout, and took time to listen when I spoke with them in the lobby. I liked the quiet, spacious rooms and the hotel’s charm and hospitality. The people here deserve raises, paid days off, and stock options. Bravo!

We planned on staying three nights, but found cockroaches in the bathroom on the first one. We caught one under a cup, as shown in the attached picture. When we asked for a refund for the two unused nights, they refused, saying the property was in a “highly desirable location” and that “bugs in the desert are normal.” If you choose to stay here, you may end up paying to sleep with bugs.

The hotel and our room were very clean, and the staff were all wonderful and focused on guests. I had such a good experience here. I regret not getting photos of this grand location to post, but if I get the chance to return, I’ll make sure to take some.

The location is handy, with restaurants you can walk to, but checking in was a horrific experience. The rooms are average, and the supposed remodel looks like they just put on a coat of paint.
