Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas by IHG

The only part of my work stay that disappointed me was check-in. The front desk asked for my card for incidentals and said it would only be used for that, but they charged the full stay to it even though my work had already booked the room and had a card on file. Other than that, I had a fantastic time at Kimpton Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa. It was peaceful, set in a stunning desert landscape with mountains behind it and palm trees around the property. The resort's easy layout made getting around relaxing. I stayed in the 900s villas, which felt quiet and private, and loved sitting outside on the porch. The rooms felt new and were very clean. I liked that the design stayed true to Arizona and Scottsdale style instead of looking overly modern. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in. The food across the property was excellent, especially at the poolside restaurant and the Mexican restaurant, so it was easy to have great meals without leaving. Staff throughout the resort were friendly and helpful. I'd absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, beautiful stay in Arizona.

Hecho Libre was a highlight of our visit. The waitstaff were friendly, knew the menu, and gave us great recommendations with attentive service. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and the quality felt like great value. The Halibut Veracruzana was fresh and flavorful, the tacos were delicious, and the steaks were cooked just right, tender, juicy, and full of flavor. We also loved having several pools to choose from, whether we wanted a livelier scene or somewhere quieter to unwind. The resort is close to Scottsdale shopping, dining, and nightlife, all a short drive away, while still feeling peaceful when you get back. Our stay at the Miralina Resort was fantastic from start to finish. The property is beautifully maintained, and the renovated rooms felt fresh, modern, comfortable, spotless, and thoughtfully designed. We'd love to return.

The experience kept getting worse after we were moved to the correct room. Housekeeping didn't come until 8:00 PM, after we followed up, and at the bar I waited several minutes for coffee while staff made eye contact without acknowledging me. The property also has a noticeable difference between the renovated areas and the older sections, which affects the experience. At check-in we were taken to the wrong room, and no one helped with our luggage. In the right room we found torn bedding and what looked like bed bugs along the mattress seams. We took photos and reported it right away. Maria, one of the kitchen supervisors, was the only person who showed genuine professionalism. She heard what had happened, brought me coffee herself, and seemed concerned. The morning manager was more professional than the afternoon manager, but our concerns still weren't properly resolved, and nobody offered compensation despite the documented problems. For the price of Kimpton Miraval Resort & Villas, cleanliness, service, and guest care should be consistent. I encourage future guests to inspect their rooms carefully.

Tammy and Carol did a great job sorting out my room reservation after my travel agency got something wrong. They stayed calm and professional in the middle of the night, and I really appreciate that. The hotel was fully renovated last year. I loved it before, but now it's unbeatable, with big rooms, great pools and spa, and super service. Already looking forward to my next stay.
