McCormick Ranch 8-Bedroom Villa

The pool was nice, though not as warm as you'd hope. The lake and golf course seemed nice too, but I think you can visit other parts of the lake for free. The hotel is a sprawling, low-rise property, and our room was a long walk for my wife, who has mobility issues. There's also very little nearby: no gas stations, convenience stores, or shops for forgotten items within a five-minute drive, let alone walking distance. We could hear an event, maybe a wedding, from our room even with the door closed and the AC fan running. Staff seemed to want as little interaction as possible. Cleaning staff looked away when we passed, and the front desk were efficient to the point that it felt like they wanted me gone. I paid a lot and upgraded my room, but I'm not sure what the upgrade got me. The balcony had little privacy, and its door only locked with a burglar bar. Furniture had dings and scuffs, and the reading light didn't work. For a regular hotel priced like other Ramadas or Best Westerns, that might be fine. This was supposed to be a resort getaway treat for my wife, but it was just a way, way overpriced hotel stay.

I stayed at this property before and had positive experiences, which makes this situation especially disappointing. An unauthorized charge connected with the hotel recently appeared on my card. I've tried contacting the team several times to resolve it, but haven't received a response. There was also an unusual and concerning incident during my stay in the room that I'd like to discuss directly with management. Please have someone from management contact me as soon as possible so we can review what happened and arrange a refund if the charge was made in error. I'd much rather settle this directly and amicably. Thank you for giving this your prompt attention. I look forward to hearing back.

The rooms show a lot of wear, with older furniture, carpeting, and sliding barn doors for the bathrooms. The setting is ideal, though, and the hotel has beautiful views right on site. Staff were responsive and helpful throughout. Terry in the restaurant and bar was one of the kindest people I've ever met and made both my stay and dining experience so pleasant.

A peaceful little stop right on the lake, with a charm of its own and decent amenities. The helpful staff made the experience even better. Genesis, Paloma, Bella, Jules, and others were friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great stay!
