The hotel itself was nice, so I was surprised by the shipping charge. After checkout, I asked the front desk to pick up the sunglasses I’d left in my friend’s room and send them to me. They said they could, and I figured they were busy, so I didn’t think much of it. Once I got home, an email asked me to pay $25 for shipping. Other hotels and dining spots have mailed forgotten things at no cost, so that caught me off guard. They should have mentioned the price when I asked.

The restaurant staff were consistently great, and the peppercorn sauce with the steak I ordered to share was outstanding. The demi-glace was questionable, though, maybe it was molasses. My room was spacious and open, with a comfortable bed, nice bathroom, and patio. The heated pools and plentiful seating in the shared spaces were nice too. I self-parked, and getting my car was easy, though it cost $30 a day. There were a few bugs in the room on the first night. I dealt with them and didn’t see any more. The bathtub also dripped steadily. It didn’t bother me much, but it seemed wasteful. It’s a nice property with good service, but I was there for work and wouldn’t pick it for a vacation. At around $600 a night, I’m not sure who they’re aiming for. It’s not quite luxury, though well above a 2-star stay.

The grounds and pools were beautiful, and the restaurant was lovely. We also got some nice perks and excellent service. The resort is older, but it has the classic Spanish style it advertises. We couldn’t get an upgrade for our significant birthday, though they did give us the beautiful view we’d requested, from a room at the very back of the property. I’d come back.

We were able to pick the kind of pool atmosphere we wanted, with a fun family pool and another reserved for adults. From our room, we had a great view over the pool. We stayed at the Omni Hotel in April, and the orange blossom scent all around the property made the place feel especially fresh and relaxing.

We stayed just under a week and would happily return. Even with some groups hosted at the resort, the large campus never felt crowded or noisy. The 18+ pool was a nice feature, and the staff made the stay: everyone was so friendly and helpful.
