Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Scottsdale Old Town

I slept well in a comfortable bed, and the bathroom had plenty of towels. The room was a good size, on the third floor next to the elevator (#314), and I barely heard it or other guests. It had a slight smell, maybe from the muggy monsoon weather, but it wasn’t overwhelming. The hotel didn’t seem very busy. The hallways were warm when I arrived Friday night, though it is August in Arizona, and my room was already comfortable. The fitness center was in good order. The indoor pool was nice, but its room was very warm and had a loud fan venting the space. Breakfast was pretty good, with different meats alongside the eggs from day to day. When the coffee ran out, it didn’t take long to refill, and small creamers were available at the end of breakfast, likely because the half-and-half pitcher was empty. Staff were polite, and the amenities felt good for the price. Looking closely at the corners, the hotel seems to have been renovated fairly recently. The app showed a $10 parking charge, but it wasn’t on my bill, so perhaps that fee has been removed and the app hasn’t been updated.

At 8:15 a.m., with no other guests in sight, the elevator was out of order and the breakfast was cold. The coffee, milk, and cream dispensers were empty, too. They said our room had been upgraded, but there was nothing special about it. And charging $10 to park in a small surface lot is ridiculously ridiculous. We’ve stayed at many Fairfield Hotels and usually find them consistent, but this one missed the mark.

Check-in was quick, and the person at the desk gave me a great dinner recommendation. I also needed a later checkout, and that was no problem. I had an excellent stay and will stay here next time I’m in town.

I’m writing about a billing issue after my stay at Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites. We checked in Thursday, November 27, 2025, and checked out Friday, November 28, 2025. At check-in, we were charged for one night, parking, and a $20 deposit. The front desk agent said the deposit would be returned within three business days, but it still hasn’t come back. Could you explain the delay? If it has been processed, please send confirmation or documentation showing the $20 was returned. I also tried submitting this through the contact form on marriott.com, but it doesn’t work on an iPhone using iOS Safari. Even with all the required fields completed, the form won’t send. I wanted to flag that issue as well. Thank you for your help, and I look forward to hearing back.
