Booking this hotel at the last minute during the recent snowstorm in PA was a real relief. Instead of sleeping at the hospital, I had a clean, comfortable bed and could properly rest before my next few shifts during the storm. The hotel was accommodating, and I appreciated having a safe, warm place to stay. The covered parking was a big help too. When I needed to head back to the hospital the next morning, I didn’t have to clear snow off my car.

The architecture is the real draw here. It feels like stepping into another time, and the building is stunning, with a big room overlooking Scranton. There’s a huge bar with good drinks, and the staff were all amazing. I loved eating breakfast in the beautiful area beside the main lobby, surrounded by the timeless, tasteful design. This is a must see for me, and I’ll definitely come back.

We were glad we chose The Radisson for our return trip as fans of The Office. From our sixth floor room we had a very nice view, and the lobby is gorgeous. The hotel has a rich history and has been updated while keeping many of its original features. Staff were friendly and welcoming. It’s within walking distance of the sites mentioned on The Office, including Dwight Mural, Office cast mural, The Mall at Steamtown, Cooper’s Seafood, Alfredo’s Pizza Cafe, and Idle Lanes Bowling/Poor Richard’s Pub. You sometimes hear morning noise from the train station, but it didn’t put us off staying here again.

The old platform bar is such a unique touch, and other guests there were super welcoming. My husband and I came for the history and architecture, and we loved the building. The staff were very friendly, especially at the front desk. Our room was decent, and we could see the sign of scranton: the electric city. I like sleeping with fan noise and didn’t have a fan, but the AC/heat unit worked perfectly for that. We’d definitely stay again.

The restaurant staff helped me discover the building’s rich history and directed me to flyers at the hospitality desk. I’m grateful they did, because I got to tour the place before leaving and see its beauty and grandeur. Without them, I would have missed it. I wish I’d been told about the history and flyers at check-in, but the desk clerk didn’t seem interested in talking with guests. The building itself is gorgeous, with original architectural details intact. The room was another story. It smelled strongly of urine, and it was a pet friendly room with carpeted floors, which seems like a poor choice for pets. I told the desk clerk, but he seemed uninterested and offered to send someone to spray. I declined because that would just mask the odor and put chemicals in the air for me and my dogs to breathe. So I put up with the urine smell for two days. This was another stay where the front desk staff weren’t very helpful.
