The staff were friendly, and we had a fantastic stay. There were plenty of snacks and food, plus drinks for guests. We could use the whole hotel and even made our own breakfast and dinner one night. Easy five stars from me.

It had that charming feel of the good old days, and the staff were great. The Hotel Texan is full of history and was super clean, better than some high-end chain hotels, honestly. My wife and I stayed one night and really enjoyed it.

A quiet, clean, comfy little place, and such a treat during our vacation trip home. My husband and I were glad we stayed here.

The antiques and quaint atmosphere were a big part of why we enjoyed our stay. This isn't a contemporary or upscale hotel, but everything in the room was clean and working, including the refrigerator, electric fireplace, and flat screen TV. There's a historical marker on the outside of Hotel Texan, too. About a block down Main Street, the Museum for Loop and Seagraves is worth a look. The large display about Quanna Parker and the American Indian artifacts impressed us, along with plenty of other interesting items. We also recommend the pizza and ice cream place next door to the hotel.

The owner really wants guests to feel welcome and relaxed, and goes out of his way to look after people. He's always polite, and we felt treated with respect. The place was built in 1917, and he shared its story and his wish to bring its history to life. If you're after the Ritz, this may not be your spot. But if you want to save money for your family and wake up peacefully to homemade banana bread and coffee, play a little corn hole, and listen to a waterfall, you'll feel that your host is glad you're there. The Texas Tech football game was awesome, too. We're about to head home, and I'd give it six stars if I could. I almost hate recommending this jewel since we may have to book ahead once everyone hears about it!
