Ayres Hotel Seal Beach - Cypress

The breakfast area had a variety of food, and the hotel seemed authentic and well organized. My family and I found the room really interesting. The two beds looked clean and neatly arranged, and the bathroom was clean too. The only small problem was a glitch with the television while we were watching it.

The Wi-Fi was the big drawback for me. It was painfully slow, the slowest I’ve used in a long time, and nearly useless if you need to work or join video calls. That needs attention. The rest was pretty good, with comfortable rooms, decent service, and a good location.

We could hear the people upstairs with every step, and the AC smelled really musty. Maintenance came by, but it only helped a little, and the smell got into our clothes too. We mostly kept the AC off and opened the window instead. We stayed a few nights; the place itself was nice and well located. Not my best hotel experience, but not the worst either.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and service was great. Breakfast was good too, with fresh eggs and French toast. The room was clean and smelled nice. My bed felt a bit springy, though, and the shower head was fixed in place with no different settings. I’ve stayed in much worse places, so it was decent and I’d come back. My wife probably wouldn’t. If they upgraded the mattress and shower heads, we’d definitely return and give them five stars all around.
